saw two Godard films (Nouvelle Vague and Made in USA) that I found incomprehensible, except that they were challenging cinema conventions, but that doesn't make for a good film, at least for me. I also saw MR KLEIN which was fantastic and sad. Last week I saw Father of my Children, which I liked a lot, and soon I plan on seeing The Killer Inside of Me. I borrowed and watched Nobody Knows, a heartbreaking depressing Japanese film.

Heading back to Sydney on Friday to finish framing the ravens, and to hand out postcards advertising the show.

Just saw The Banishment at Chauvel, wow, that is an excellent film, esp when paired with The Return - I like Silent light better, but I'd put these two films in my current top ten. Russian, and sad, but somehow, for me, not depressing. this is someone who loves film, loves light, and seeing things a certain way, the way the road looks, or the tree, or the wedding rings.

Also last night we saw a View of Concrete at Belvoir downstairs - really excellent script, and good acting, go see it, can't believe it wasn't sold out (hey Banishment wasn't sold out either, shocking!) about a drug dealer and his customers and paranoia. I really thought it was surprisingly good.
